Prof. Hare has studied pulsed-power driven Z-pinches for over 15 years, with positions at Imperial College London, MIT, and now Cornell. He has carried out experiments on MAGPIE, MAIZE, COBRA and Z, and his research includes radiatively cooled magnetic reconnection, magnetized turbulence, dynamic current switching, and pulser-driven fusion. He built the new PUFFIN microseocnd LTD at MIT which will soon be a ZNetUS facility at Cornell.
