Background

ZNetUS is a national consortium of researchers from academia, national labs, and industry working to advance pulsed magnetic science, technology, and high energy density physics for energy and national security. With a focus on developing future scientific leaders, ZNetUS hosts an NNSA User Facilities program aimed at fostering academic collaboration and expanding access to cutting-edge capabilities in this critical field.

Workshop Objectives

This workshop will feature results from recent ZNetUS campaigns, invited talks from leading researchers, as well as insights from the federal government, industry, and the broader pulsed magnetic science community.

Topics Include:

  • Pulsed power technology
  • MHD and hybrid codes development
  • Magnetized high-energy density plasmas
  • Diagnostics development
  • Student presentations/posters from recent user call

Student Travel Support

The NNSA has limited, first come first served,  funding to support US students and US post docs from US universities to cover workshop costs, including transportation, lodging, and registration fees. This also includes optional attendance at the “2026 Z Fundamental Science” workshop, held at the same venue from August 12-14, 2026.

Please email Janet Kile (janet.kile@chickasaw.com) and indicate you are requesting travel support and if you are attending ZNetUS or ZFS as well. Include name, university, citizenship, position (grad student or postdoc).

Requests for travel support must be received by Friday, June 26, 2026. Upon approval of travel support, you will receive pertinent information from Chickasaw regarding rules for reimbursement (also note that reimbursement will occur after completion of the Workshop, i.e., you will have to pay for your travel arrangements in advance and submit a request for reimbursement after the Workshop).
